Go On Safari with Prof David Bellamy – 14th July 2012

Posted by Nonsuch Mansion

This is your chance to join famous botanist Professor David Bellamy OBE for a wildlife ramble through the park.

This event is being organised by the British Naturalists Association as part of their Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Professor Bellamy grew up in the area and has fond memories of exploring Nonsuch Park, finding butterflies, wildflowers and other insects.

The fun will start at 10.30am outside Nonsuch Mansion (near our cafe) and will involve a full day of adventures including a walk to Warren Farm, a talk on Nonsuch Palace by Dr. June Chatfield and a chance to visit the new scale model of Nonsuch Palace in the Friends of Nonsuch Mansion museum. In the afternoon, there will also be a Spider Safari and an exploration of the area around the 18th century Round Pond and the adjacent veteran oak.

Remember to come to Nonsuch Pantry to buy your lunch! We’ll have plenty of fresh sandwiches and tasty treats ready for you.

Visit the BNA website for full details. Tickets are £10 for Adults, £5 Children under 16 and £6.00
