Delicious Food – Summer Menu Tasting Evening

A handful of couples were invited to our exclusive Summer Menu Tasting Evening to enjoy a special, seasonal menu designed to help them to decide on what to include in their own wedding day menu.

After a canape reception (with fizz!) our lovely Toastmaster told everyone to take their seats at private “tables for two” and then a feast of three starters, three mains and three desserts was served.

Julie Gray and the events team were on hand to offer advice, theroom was decorated with beautiful floral centrepiece examples from a florist, photographer Lloyd Dobbie was on hand to snap a few shots and our Toastmaster kept everything in order throughout.

For many couples, the  Summer Menu Tasting Evening was the first time they’ve experienced the mansion full of guests. Everyone left very full, very happy and with plenty to think and talk about when it came to food.

Here is the delicious menu that our special guests enjoyed:

Canapés

* Mini bagels of smoked salmon and cream cheese

* Rare roast fillet of beef on watermelon cubes with pickled ginger

* Ricotta cakes with slow roast tomatoes and basil wafers

Starters

* Mezze platter of marinated aubergine, filo pastries with spinach and
ricotta, homemade hummus, grilled halloumi, Kalamata olives and warm herb flat breads

* Artisan de salmon – beetroot cured salmon, fennel remoulade, grapefruit salad

* Open tomato tarte with marinated mozzarella, tapenade and rocket

Mains

* Sea bass, lemon mash, char-grilled Mediterranean vegetables, basil crisps and herb oil

* Harissa rubbed breast of chicken, served with sweet potato mash with wilted kale, long stem broccoli and a rich natural jus

* Slow roasted belly of pork served on coriander rice cakes with Pak choi, sugar snaps and soy & honey reduction

Desserts

* ‘Eaton Tidy’ – meringue kisses, passion fruit and raspberries

* Chocolate pave, carpaccio of pineapple, ginger mascarpone and praline

* Mango and hazelnut “trifle”, infused with rum and lime
